As part of our quarterly commitment to nurturing young minds, part of our Community Liaison team conducted the first school visitation and mentorship program of the year this quarter. The two-day initiative took them to Korolle Mixed Secondary School and Korr Mixed Secondary School, where they engaged students on critical life skills, career pathways, and provided some insights into the LTWP/WoC Scholarship Fund. This interactive learning experience is designed to foster environmental awareness while encouraging young learners to explore careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), connecting classroom concepts to real-world applications to ignite curiosity.
The response from both institutions was nothing short of inspiring.
Day One: Korolle Mixed Secondary School

The session covered seven key areas: Career choice, self-awareness, study habits, discipline, time management, leadership skills and life experience and WoC scholarship programme awareness.
The question-and-answer session revealed a hunger for guidance and many shared their career dreams, from teaching to engineering, and the team left encouraged by their determination.
Day Two: Korr Mixed Secondary School

The second day brought the team to Korr Mixed Secondary where the story is one of remarkable transformation. Here, they focused on what they considered the pillars of success: Career choices, determination, discipline and mentorship. They also provided insights into the LTWP/ WoC scholarship Fund and application process, walking students through the requirements.
By empowering students to become agents of change in their communities, the School Visitation program seeks to equip them with knowledge that is both globally relevant and locally applicable.
“We look forward to visiting schools, engaging young minds, and planting seeds that will grow into a more sustainable and innovative future,” said Boren, one of the CLOs.
The request from Korr Mixed students to visit the wind farm demonstrates that this message is resonating. Young minds are already envisioning themselves in engineering roles. The enthusiasm shown by students, particularly, their desire to see renewable energy in action, affirms that we are on the right path.
