LTWP Community Open Day

We hosted an open day on 12th November aimed at fostering community partnership and transparency through insightful presentations and collaborative dialogue. The event was attended by 145 stakeholders from the National Government, Marsabit County Government and Laisamis Constituency, which was represented by the area Member of Parliament, MCA’s, community chiefs & representatives. Our CEO, Max Schiff and other LTWP staff were also present, underscoring our continued commitment to inclusive engagement.

The agenda was structured to ensure sessions were both informative and engaging. Our CEO provided background on LTWP and highlighted that by harnessing clean, renewable energy for Kenya, we are contributing significantly to the national power grid. Our NGO, Winds of Change continues to empower and support the local community within Laisamis Constituency through the construction of educational facilities, modern laboratories, health facilities and boreholes for improved water access.

The Big Announcement

The open day provided an opportunity to officially announce that we are scheduled to launch the Winds of Change Scholarship Program in 2026 with attendees getting first-hand information on the target student beneficiaries and selection criteria. Through an interactive question and answer session, community members offered suggestions, sought clarifications on various topics and provided valuable insights that will help shape our future initiatives.

In his closing remarks, Our CEO, Max Schiff expressed deep appreciation by for the community’s active engagement saying, “Open dialogue is essential for a strong and genuine partnership. Thank you all for the feedback and constructive suggestions. We hope to continue fostering dialogue, transparency and collaborative planning through such platforms.”
