Mr. Willy Ireri is currently the Executive Director at Milele Energy, where he leads initiatives in developing and financing energy and infrastructure projects across Sub-Saharan Africa.
With over 20 years of experience in financing and investment, he has cultivated a strong reputation as a strategic leader with a proven track record in deal origination and execution. His expertise encompasses distressed debt, restructuring, and portfolio asset management, making him a pivotal figure in the region’s energy sector.
Before joining Milele Energy, he held senior project development roles with top-tier global firms, including a decade at GE Capital’s Energy Financial Services in Nairobi. During this time, he was instrumental in executing significant energy projects such as the 100MW Kipeto Wind Project in Kenya.
His earlier career included positions at Barclays in London and Dubai, Citi Bank in Zurich, and PwC in Greater China, where he honed his skills in investment execution and real asset management.
Mr. Ireri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from the London Business School. His academic background complements his extensive professional experience, equipping him with the knowledge and skills to navigate complex financial landscapes effectively.
