Job Summary

The reporting accountant will support the preparation of financial and performance reports, reviews and assist the Head of Risk and Audit in processing accounting transactions and ensuring the correctness of accounting ledgers, and petty cash management. Tax management by ensuring all the transactions as compliant with applicable legislation. The role will also ensure that all documentation submitted to payroll services for employee payments complies with established payroll, accounting principles, practices, and standards, and will be responsible for the accurate calculation, processing, and production of monthly employee pay.

Job Details

  1. Financial recording and reporting recording financial transactions purchases, payments and receipts. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
  2. Tax compliance, ensuring compliance in applicable tax laws.
  3. Oversee treasury management, securing the best foreign exchange (FX) deals and ensuring all accounts are adequately funded.
  4. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings for trade receivables, payables, accruals, and related journal entries.
  5. Oversee payroll management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  6. Manage petty cash operations, ensuring proper accountability and reconciliation.
  7. Support the annual budget process, monitor and evaluate budget performance with Heads of Department, and respond promptly to utilization queries.
  8. Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and related financial analyses.
  9. Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Professional accounting certificates such as CPA or ACCA.
  • Minimum of six (5) years of relevant experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
