Duty Station:                           Project Site – Marsabit County

LTWP seeks to hire Deputy Security Manager who will be responsible for;

  • Coordination, supervision, and advice to management on effective security management systems within the business.
  • Ensure that threats to personnel, assets, and business operations/activities within the area are appropriately identified, evaluated, and countered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Provide effective communication and coordination between the LTWP Security Management Department and the LTWP guard force for operational and administrative purposes and ensure the effective implementation of the LTWP security plan and response procedures.
  • Responsibilities include assisting in the training of LTWP personnel in security procedures to effectively mitigate risks.
  • Ensures that all planning and distribution of the monthly guard force deployment schedules is an adequate ethnic balance within each security team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist the Security Manager in planning and implementing the security strategy per the LTWP security protocols. Deputizes for the Security manager in his absence.
  2. Report and document on all security aspects.
  3. Ensure the team is tasked efficiently and effectively with maximizing resources at peak times, matching Rota to operational demands.
  4. Ensure Security procedures are implemented according to the set Standard Operating Procedures.
  5. Line manage a team of Security Supervisors, providing guidance, support, and specialist expertise to the team.
  6. Provide shift cover, duty management and flexibility to cover outside regular operational hours.
  7. Assist the training of LTWP personnel in security procedures to effectively mitigate risks. This entails contributing to the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs aimed at equipping staff with essential skills and knowledge for managing security incident.
  8. Monitor post attendance and ensuring guard discipline and fitness levels are upheld to maintain optimal security standards.
  9. Support the behavior of working as LTWP, sharing best practice, and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business.
  10. Ensure full participation in the Performance Appraisal Review (PAR) process and maintain an up-to-date record of all training and development activities/programs.
  11. Always act and behave in a way compliant with all LTWP company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to values and behaviors, environmental health and safety, ethics and codes of conduct, as it is through living our values that we strengthen the culture of our business and demonstrate our understanding of our Code of Conduct.
  12. Any other duties deemed necessary and relevant by the management in the smooth running of the Wind Farm Site operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have attended training as a police officer constable.
  • Must have at least 10 years work experience, 5 of which should be at supervisory level in security management and law enforcement in either public or private sector.
  • Must have a good understanding of relevant laws and regulations governing security sector.
  • Must have obtained relevant certifications in security management, such as Platoon Commanders course and/or Platoon Sergeant Course
