Igniting Futures, The Winds of Change Scholarship Fund is Coming to Marsabit

We are proud to announce the official launch of the Winds of Change (WoC) Scholarship Fund, a transformative initiative poised to empower vulnerable youth in Marsabit County, with a special focus on the Laisamis Constituency. This scholarship program is dubbed “The Laisamis Lift-Off” and is set to officially open its online application portal on May 1, 2026. For years, community representatives have expressed a need for accessible and transparent scholarship opportunities and we have listened. Recognizing the persistent challenges of limited educational infrastructure, high youth unemployment and constrained access to formal training in the region, we have established a comprehensive and transparent scholarship fund.

Why WoC?

The Scholarship reflects our continued commitment to sustainable development and lasting social impact within the region and will:

  • Enhance Employability: Equip beneficiaries with in-demand skills to thrive in the job market, both within and beyond LTWP.
  • Foster Comprehensive Success: Provide a holistic scholarship package that includes crucial support services like mentorship, psychosocial support, and career counseling, ensuring students have the best chance to complete their courses and secure meaningful employment.
  • Drive Regional Development: Cultivate a skilled local workforce in critical sectors, thereby contributing directly to Marsabit’s economic growth and inclusive development.

A Comprehensive Opportunity Beyond Tuition

Success in education requires more than just paid school fees. This scholarship package is designed to remove financial burdens and provide an all-rounded supportive environment covering:

  • Accommodation: Ensuring a safe and conducive living environment.
  • Transport: Facilitating travel to and from educational institutions.
  • Meals: Supporting beneficiaries’ nutritional needs.
  • Stipend: Providing essential living allowances.
  • Course Materials: Supplying all necessary books and learning resources.
  • Critical Support Services: Including ongoing mentorship, psychosocial support and career counseling to guide students through their academic journey and into employment.

What Does the Scholarship Offer?

The fund will focus on vocational including:

  • Education: Diploma in Primary Teacher Education from a Teacher Training College (TTC).
