For the second year in a row, LTWP is supporting the 37th edition of the annual Rhino Charge by backing the EV Explorer team which makes history as the first-ever 100% electric vehicle entry in the off-road competition.
This sponsorship announcement comes ahead of the rigorous 4×4 event taking place in Samburu County from 29th – 31st May 2026, with the main competition day scheduled for May 30th. Beyond supporting the eco-friendly vehicle, this year’s partnership features a strategic collaboration with the KCB Foundation to award partial scholarships and technical observer roles to two female students from local Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
This initiative directly mirrors our continued commitment towards community development, youth empowerment and the cultivation of homegrown technical skills following the recent launch of our Winds of Change Scholarship Fund designed to equip youth with technical, vocational and engineering skills.

“We are invested in fostering the innovation and talent that will shape Kenya’s sustainable future. By supporting the EV Explorer team and investing in these bright female TVET students, we are bridging the gap between classroom theory and extreme, hands-on engineering. Supporting youth and gender diversity in STEM fields is fundamental to building a robust, climate-resilient workforce,” said our Chief Executive Officer – Max Schiff.
The EV Explorer team is breaking barriers in the motorsport world by proving that clean technology can withstand the harshest environments. The inclusion of the two female TVET scholars provides them with field experience as they shadow the engineering team through mechanical and electrical challenges during the charge. The annual Rhino Charge raises critical funds for the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust to conserve and protect Kenya’s vital water towers and ecosystems.
